Worm Charming in Year 1

Mrs Allenby's prediction proved correct. The conditions for worm charming on Friday were perfect, as you will be able to see from the photos of the Year 1s taking part in outdoor science learning.

The moon on Thursday and Friday was a beautiful full moon, which is sometimes called a 'Worm moon' because the full moon near the solstice happens at a time when the soil is getting warmer, so worms are becoming more active. The children in Year 1 would agree.
